Hategekimana
Leon
Hategekimana is 23 years old and will now attend the
Catholic University of Kabgayi in Rwanda, where he
will study the Sciences and Development Techniques.
Leon's
family suffered during the Rwandan genocide in 1994,
when he lost his father. Afterwards his uncle was
able to support him for some time until, tragically,
he died unexpectedly. With nowhere else to turn, Leon
now looks to Educate! for help.
In spite of his difficult past, Leon is an extremely
kind young man with a large heart and high spirits.
Like Jean Pierre, Leon wants to become an urban engineer
so that he can help rebuild his country after the
1994 genocide. He enjoys basketball and playing the
piano.
