Mary
Chimpaye
An 11 year old Congolese refugee, Mary is one of Educate!'s
few primary school students. Educate! believes that
Mary, as well as our other primary school students,
should recieve a primary school education much better
than the one otherwise given to them by the state.
Mary's parents are too old to provide for her education,
but thanks to a book club in Minnesota that is sponsoring
Mary through Educate!, Mary now has the chance to
achieve her goals.
In her own words, Mary says, "I want to become
a teacher to teach all adults and the young who never
got a chance to join schools in their lives."
