Our Students

Uwera Trifine

Uwera Trifine is 15 years old and in her first year of secondary school at ACEJ School in Gitarama, Rwanda. Uwera excels academically at school, where she placed 8th in her class. She is also enrolled in physics and chemistry simultaneously, something that few students dare to do.

In addition to her science classes, Uwera is beginning to learn how to speak English, a skill she is very proud of. She is also the striker on the girl's soccer team at ACEJ School. Upon completing her education, she hopes to become a doctor.

Uwera was born in a rural farming village near Gitarama. When Educate!'s sponsorship gave her a chance to go to school, her entire village came out to thank Educate! by presenting the founder, Eric Glustrom, with basket after basket of their crops. Uwera's village, which resembles a large family, understood what an incredible opportunity Educate! had given one of their daughters, and they all thus wanted to express their gratitude.
